Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to get my real estate license?

The time required to complete the 90-hour Pre-Licensing course varies by individual, but most agents finish the entire process in two to four months. While some dedicated students can complete the coursework in as little as 60 days, others take up to six months to navigate the course, pass the state exam, and find a managing broker. It is highly recommended that you progress through the material quickly; since you are tested on foundational laws and principles from the start of the course, keeping the momentum ensures the information stays fresh for your final licensing exam.

What is the Licensing Exam?

After you pass your Pre-Licensing Final Exam, you must sit for the official Indiana Real Estate Broker Exam. As of late 2025/early 2026, Indiana has transitioned its testing services from PSI to Pearson VUE. This exam is composed of two sections: a National portion and an Indiana State-specific portion. The test includes multiple-choice questions covering real estate law, ethics, contracts, and professional responsibilities. You must pass both sections of the exam with a scaled score of at least 75 to be eligible for your license. You can schedule your exam at various Pearson VUE testing centers throughout the state, including Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, and Evansville.

How much does it cost?

To become a licensed broker in Indiana, you should budget between $500 and $1,000 for initial startup costs. Your first step is the 90-hour Pre-Licensing Course, which we can help you with through our Kaplan/KSCORE Scholarship. For just a $99 application fee, we cover the cost of your full tuition, which is normally $549. Simply contact us today to apply and secure this tuition-free opportunity. After completing your education, your remaining costs include a $53 exam fee to Pearson VUE per attempt, a $38–$50 criminal background check, and a $60 state application fee. Additionally, we aim to keep your overhead predictable: we now provide Errors and Omissions (E&O) insurance for our brokers as part of their monthly fee, eliminating the typical annual out-of-pocket expense of $330–$350.

What is E&O Insurance?

E&O stands for Errors & Omissions. The state of Indiana requires all agents carry E&O Insurance.
